Every IAT candidate answers all 15 Biology and all 15 Maths questions - whatever they studied in school. That is 60 of 240 marks most aspirants are unprepared for. We run dedicated parallel tracks so a PCM student masters Biology and a PCB student masters Maths.

- Can I get into IISER without JEE or NEET?
- Yes. The IISER Aptitude Test is the sole admission channel to all 7 IISERs - JEE and NEET play no role. IISc Bengaluru, IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati BS programmes also accept the IAT score, with a separate application to each.
- Is Maths compulsory in the IAT for PCB students?
- Yes. Every candidate answers all 15 Maths questions - 60 of 240 marks - regardless of school stream. That is exactly why we run a dedicated Maths track for PCB students in every paid batch.
- How much Biology is in the IAT for PCM / JEE students?
- 15 of the 60 questions - a full 60 of 240 marks. There is no Biology-optional route. Our non-Bio parallel track takes a PCM student from NCERT zero to exam-ready.
- Am I eligible after a drop year?
- Yes - up to two drop years are allowed. For IAT 2026, anyone who passed Class XII in 2024, 2025 or 2026 (or is appearing in 2026) is eligible, with a minimum 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST/PwD). The window rolls forward each year.
- IAT vs JEE - which is harder?
- Different, not simply harder. Most aspirants place the IAT above JEE Main and below JEE Advanced in depth - but the structure is the real difference: four compulsory subjects including Biology (25% of the paper), 60 questions in 180 minutes, all NCERT-grounded.
- Is NCERT enough for the IAT?
- The syllabus is the full Class 11 + 12 NCERT in all four subjects - so NCERT mastery is necessary, and with serious past-paper practice it is close to sufficient. What NCERT alone does not give you is speed, paper strategy and re-tested retention. That is the part we coach.
- What was the IISER Pune cutoff?
- Cutoffs are rank-based and shift with every counselling round and category - single "marks cutoffs" you see online contradict each other. IISER Pune has recently been among the earliest campuses to close. We maintain round-wise closing ranks, updated each counselling season, in the free Telegram group.
